Doppio Zero is my new favorite local chain. I had a chance to come to their original location in Mt View for dinner yesterday. I recently saw an article about Naples being the best food town in the world and saw the Stanley Tucci documentary about Naples. Well...Doppio Zero which claims that Southern Italy inspires them helps make the case further. Neapolitan pizza with its simple ingredients and soft tasty crust is amazing. The pizza and the pasta here are very good. The ambience is casual nice and the service is friendly and very efficient. Great meal overall!

Went for dinner with a large group. We had a great time and the food was very good. I got mortadella pizza which tasted great. The pizza wasn't too salty, and the tomato sauce was well-balanced with other ingredients. The most impressive part was the pizza crust--it was soft and tender, reminiscent of pita bread and we were quite satisfied. Prosciutto burrata was refreshing and worth ordering! Food is sumptuous too. Service was great, we were happy with the recommended Italian wine. Dessert also tasted great. I will definitely visit again!

First visit to Doppio Zero. Tried the Pulcinella pizza - Good combo of Red sauce and pesto sauce - Loved it! Note to Self: Ask for No Eggplant next time.

The dough is amazing on the pizza! It's super airy and chewy. The variety and toppings on the pizza were also solid! We tried the truffle mushroom pasta as well and that was also really yummy! I really like trying restaurants in this downtown Mountain View area since it's such a nice place to hang out and enjoy the vibes afterwards too with Castro St blocked off.

We stopped here for lunch yesterday and got the polpettine, broccolini, and bufalina pizza. The meatballs were really good and the broccolini was decent but nothing special. The pizza was kinda wet like I guess the best description would be juicy? Lol. I would come back here though I liked the food I would just get pasta or a different pizza next time. I think it was maybe the cheese that made the sogginess. The service was fast and friendly as well. It was nice to sit outside there because it was a nice day out.

I love this place, but the pizzas are often soggy now, different from a couple years ago

It's a rustic modern Italian dining experience here at Doppio Zero. I was a few years late to try this place. They have a good range of Italian dishes, pizza, pasta and more, at a fairly reasonable price. Fungo Pizza is always a must try for me and it did not disappoint. I did enjoy their version with chili flakes, adds more flavor to the simplicity of the mushroom pizza. I like the wild mushrooms that they used, i think it's beech mushrooms, if not maybe enoki. The pizza size is pretty big, good for sharing 2-3 people. The Melanzane alla Parmigiana is also good. The eggplant is really soft to eat. It's a little bit saucy than I'm used too. Also tried the truffle fries and i like its thin cut and just light touch of truffle. The service was good and fast for lunch time. They are attentive to refills and checks on the table a good number of times. It's nice to find a place I can go to if I crave Italian cuisine with good food, reasonable price, and accessible location.

The Mortadella Pizza and Fettucine Wild Boar were delicious! The pizza was perfectly charred and the dough had a slight chew. It wasn't overly salty nor heavy. The pasta was al dente and the meat added a great umami taste to the dish with the tomato sauce adding a hint of freshness. The service was great. Staff were nice. The only complaint I have is that it was so loud in the restaurant. Almost a sensory overload with the loud club-like music and people talking loudly trying to hear each other. I could barely hear my partner from across me. The good thing is that there is plenty of outdoor seating. Since the weather is getting warmer, I recommend sitting outside if it's too crowded inside--a note to myself for next time :)

I had the best pizza of my entire life here- was recently introduced to this spot and have already been twice. Ordered the same thing both times because both dishes were just that good. I had the doppio zero pizza and marechiaro, which was a squid ink and seafood tomato pasta. Everything about the pizza was so perfect- amazing proportions of arugula, prosciutto, cheese, and dough. Pasta had the ideal chewy texture and such a generous portion of seafood (clams and scallops). There is a yummy complimentary bread bowl, but only upon request so don't forget to ask your waiter for this. My new favorite Italian restaurant, such an elegant interior and definitely will be back to try more menu items.

Came by for lunch the other day and it was a decent experience. Doppio Zero is featured in the Michelin guiide and offers both indoor, patio, and outdoor dining. The dining room seems to have been lightly remodeled recently and the highlight of the restaurant is the efficiency of the kitchen and staff. Started off with the fried calamari and shrimp and it came out within minutes. Oil quality was great as the calamari and shrimp were lightly breaded and fried to perfection. This was served with a small side of marinera sauce. Moved on to the Doppio Zero pizza and it was also excellent. The dough was light and fluffy, topped with some aged prosciutto, fresh burrata and finished off with some arugula. ~$25/head after tax and gratuity. Suggested gratuity options start at 18% pre-tax.
